Sambhali Trust Scholarship
Our work with the Sambhali Trust is one of the things we are most proud of as an organisation. We are really able to change lives. Being able to see their work in person is a unique, motivating experience that we want to offer to anyone who is interested.
Copy Club will support you in visiting The Trust in Rajasthan and in volunteering when you are there to help with their work. You’ll be volunteering in the morning & working as usual in the afternoons so it’ll be busy and very rewarding!
What does the scholarship offer?
- We will pay for your flights to Delhi & back, contributing up to £600 return
- We will pay for you trains from Delhi to Jodphur where the Trust is based
- We’ll pay for your India e-visa
- We will pay for your bed and board at The Trust for up to two weeks
- We will support you in adjusting your work and reducing your workload by 30% during the time you are with the Trust (so you’ll still have 70% to do!)
The best times to visit Northern India are between September/October and April. The summer months are incredibly hot and dry.
When you’re at the Trust you’ll be visiting different projects, helping create content & supporting with teaching.
What do I need to know before I consider it?
- Travel in India is safe if you are careful, however it’s a BIG adventure so you’ll need to feel ready to step out of your comfort zone!
- The trip is at your own discretion and risk.
- The Trust is a grassroots organisation run by volunteers and local women so it’s definitely laid back.
- Your time at the trust will be busy but rewarding balancing life there and work commitments!
- We ask that you agree to spend a minimum of one week (7 days) with the Trust to get the most of the experience.
- You’ll have your own room at the Trust - the accommodation is basic but comfortable enough.
